This woman needs no introduction. Naomi Robinson. Will come to Finland in September. A unique opportunity to learn about photography from one of the top specialists in the field.

Naomi Robinson, photographer and stylist worldwide known from the blog Bakers Royale, will lead a two-day workshop in food photography and styling in Finland in September. The workshop is intended for food bloggers, photographers and photography enthusiasts interested in food photography.

Naomi is known for taking pictures that are both very intensive and dark and playful and light. Naomi’s photos tell a powerful story. They convey a sense of captivation and make the viewer’s mouth water. Exactly what a great food picture is supposed to do.

The workshop will focus one day on Naomi’s both styles and we will practice the dark & moody and light & airy techniques, as well as the styling related to these techniques.

Naomi uses a hands-on approach in her teaching, including several exercises as well as tips on how to bring food pictures to life.

A great food image always requires processing. Therefore the workshop will also cover the importance of photo editing and the opportunities for enhancing your own style.

On the first day’s night we will be joined by the food and cooking expert Santeri Vuosara, also known as chef Santeri.Guided by Santeri, we will prepare a dinner based on the book Rakkaat juurekset (Beloved Root Vegetables) and practice at the same time shooting rapid action pictures of food and cooking.

During dinner you will have an opportunity to network with the main partners of the workshop; Ahlstrom, Food BA and Fiskars.

The event will take place in the amazing penthouse of Aallonkoti, which is located in the center of Helsinki and flooded with natural light.

The aim of this exclusive workshop program and the intensive exercises is to challenge and encourage the participants to being creative and finding their own unique voice in food photography and styling.

After the workshop you will be able to understand how different ambiances are created in food pictures by using light and photography props, how important the picture layout is, how editing can emphasize the message of the picture and how to find your own style in food photography.
